A Bit About Me

The Nurturing Edge Therapy was founded by Samantha Stringham, who was born and raised Great Falls, Montana. Samantha moved to Missoula for college in 2010 and returning to Great Falls in 2015. Finally, in 2020, she returned to Missoula/Bitterroot Valley area with her husband and 4 kids. Incredibly proud to be a Montanan, the name "Nurturing Edge" was chosen to honor all that is the Montana outdoors and her roots.

Samantha is a highly qualified therapist, having obtained her undergraduate degree, BSW, from the University of Montana 2015 and graduate degree, MSW, from Walla Walla University in 2023. She has an extensive background working with individuals and families, including advocating for those with intellectual disabilities at an International level and supporting women and families through the perinatal/postpartum season of life.

While Samantha's experiences and knowledge base is vast, she is incredibly passionate in supporting families in the perinatal season of life (this includes you too Dads!). After having her daughter and almost losing her at 3 months old to a rare bacterial infection, Samantha experienced significant Postpartum Anxiety and Perinatal OCD. Knowing how frustrating, crippling, and isolating these feelings and experiences can be for the individual and family, Samantha hopes to normalize these postpartum experiences and create a community of acceptance and support.

Similarly, Samantha also specializes in supporting children and individuals working through traumatic experiences, with specific training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and more.

When out of the office, Samantha can be found spending time with her family and 3 dogs, often camping, playing in the local parks, or toting kids to and from  hockey/gymnastics/swimming/etc.
